In light of our current health crisis, we will be postponing the CAMP FUNdRacer. This decision is deeply disappointing to all of us, but it is the right thing to do. The date currently listed for the event is not finalized. We will announce a new date officially once we are past this health crisis and can coordinate timing. Be well and keep on running (alone, of course).
Best,
Diana M.
Race Director
The CAMP FUNdRacer 5k/5mile race will raise money for the CAMP Fund.
The CAMP Fund provides financial support for first generation college students who have worked in seasonal, temporary, or migrant farming and attend SUNY Oneonta. The fund provides help with textbooks, honor society memberships, travel, graduation regalia, and miscellaneous emergency expenses. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the fund.
Day of packet pickup and staging will take place in the Hunt Union in the Waterfront room (ground floor, overlooking the pond). The SUNY Oneonta College Camp trails will provide a challenging and scenic backdrop for this timed race. You can expect to navigate some technical single and double track, open grassy areas, and rolling hills with one or two challenging climbs. Both the 5k and 5m races will start at 9am on Blodgett Dr. next to the baseball fields. The races will begin with the red trail. About 1.5 miles in (water station), the 5k racers will peel off and take the blue trail to the purple trail and head back toward the start/finish line. The 5m racers will continue along blue, connecting to the yellow trail, circling the College Camp lodge where there will be a water station and bathrooms. The race will continue down the Camp road befor picking the blue trail back up and continuing to the purple trail to the start/finish line.
There will be snacks and refreshments in the Waterfront room after the race and a small awards ceremony. Medals will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers for both men and women (there will be no age group prizes).
